The "Blue Flag of Europe", that waves in Lignano from about twenty years, is given to the bathing resorts for the quality of their water and costs, the offered services and the work of sensitization for the environment problems.
The well known city on the Adriatic sea is divided in three areas:

• Lignano Sabbiadoro located at the top of the peninsula and it’s the historian core of the city. It has a long avenue rich in shops, bars, restaurants, boutiques, gaming rooms, and squares.
• Lignano Pineta: formed in the 50s, it is characterized by a spiral map in the green. The commercial area, called “treno”, divides from north to south the shell form of Pineta. It has many shops for shopping lovers, bars for aperitifs and restaurants  to taste good fish dishes and international dishes.
• Lignano Riviera: surrounded by the green between the beach and the mouth of Tagliamento river, it’s the most quiet area of the whole city, rich in important facilities such as the thermal baths, the Zoo Punta Verde, the Golf Club and the modern touristic ports.

The long beach of Lignano offers services of good quality and it is characterized by well equipped bathing facilities. For who goes to holiday with the 4 paws friends, there is a part of the beach for dogs that has very good services custom made for our pet friends: the doggy beach.
The dogs beach is located in Lignano Sabbiadoro near the bathing facility number 1 in the via Lungomare Marin.
The nature lovers can enjoy the green and luxurian pine forest and the Lagoon of Marano located in the occidental shore of the peninsula.
The lagoon is characterized by an area of a real landscape beauty made of: sandbanks, water channels, fauna rich in animal species even rares, swamp vegetation and picturesque “casoni”. This latter are typical fishermen’s houses made of marsh reed, of the near Stella river, whose mouth is under nature protection such as refugee oasis and of resettlement for the aquatic avifauna, migratory and sedentary.
